1- Leaving Maputo you should get onto the EN1 at either where it is met by the EN4, or by Av. Joaquim Chissano

2- Once you have passed Zimpeto Stadium you are essentially out of the city and will continue on this road for over 120 more kms until you reach the small town of Macia. You will pass: Marracuene, Manhiça, Palmeira, and the sugar cane fields of Chinavane

3- When you see the Shoprite (YouSave) in Macia you should take the next right hand turn. You know you are on the right road if you pass a police station within approx. 100 metres. Continue on this thinner paved road for 30kms to reach Bilene

4- You will reach a roundabout with five streets (including the one you are arriving on) and a BCI bank. Take the second the last street heading down the hill to the beach. Turn right and you will have found Carioca Inn

1- After crossing the border at Ressano Garcia contine on the EN4 until after the first toll gate. About 1km after this toll gate turn left following the signs to Moamba. This road is rougher and thinner than the EN4 and EN1 but you will avoid the Maputo traffic and police.
2- Through Moamba the next small down you will pass is Magude, from Magude continue to Xinavane. Shortly after passing Xinavane (200m) you will rejoin the main highway, now called the EN1. Turn left onto the EN1 in the direction of Xai Xai
3- The next major town you will reach is Macia. When you see the Shoprite (YouSave) in Macia you should take the next right hand turn. You know you are on the right road if you pass a police station within approx. 100 metres. Continue on this thinner paved road for 30kms to reach Bilene
